Andrew Macrery papers, 1795-1855.

Collection consists of bound manuscript volumes, correspondence, and the estate records for Andrew Macrery; Richard Gustine; Andrew's sister, Mary Ann Macrery Shields; and his niece, Mary Ann Shields. Bound volumes include a notebook of collected poems, estate record book for Rev. John Macrery and a plantation record book pertaining to the operation of Springfield Plantation during 1855. The plantation record book lists accounts, property and reports of work performed on the plantation. Correspondence concerns family matters, social activities, health and medical care of family members. Estate papers contain slave lists and lists of livestock, equipment, and household property. Collection also has genealogical material of the Macrery and related families.

Andrew Macrery was a planter of Natchez, Miss., and owner of Roseland and Springfield Plantations. He was born Dec. 27, 1775 to Rev.
